1953 Mercury Monterey

The Monterey series was Mercury's top-of-the-line model in 1953 with additional accents outside and upgraded interior.

This North Carolina example has the rare 3-Speed stick with factory Overdrive and the transmission shifts as new.  It is also the last year of the legendary Flathead V-8 engine.

This no-rust-ever car was professional refinished in the correct color combination about 10 years ago. The interior was done at that time.  It has new wide whitewall tires and a new radiator. The original chrome is a little weak as is the headliner.

Runs and drives beautifully, either in town or on the highway.
